Super Mario Maker Enthusiasts Strive to Conquer Every Level Before Wii U Shutdow
As the impending shutdown of the Wii U’s online services looms, a dedicated group of Super Mario Maker players known as Team 0% has embarked on a mission to complete every level ever created by fellow users before the platform’s servers go offline. With Nintendo’s focus now on the Nintendo Switch, the company is gradually discontinuing online services for previous consoles, including the Wii U and 3DS. The confirmed closure date for these servers will impact games with online play and communication, such as the original Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, and Super Mario Maker.
Super Mario Maker, initially a Wii U exclusive, allowed players to craft their own levels using elements from various Mario games and share them online. With the imminent shutdown of the Wii U’s online services, Team 0%, comprising eight seasoned Super Mario players, has set an ambitious goal to conquer every single level ever uploaded to the game. The team’s objective encompasses both Super Mario Maker 1 and 2. Although their endeavor began in October, Nintendo’s recent confirmation of the shutdown date has added a sense of urgency to Team 0%.
