Minecraft Unveils New Vault Block and Introduces Trial Keys Mechanism
In the latest Minecraft YouTube video, Mojang has uncovered the Vault block, shedding light on how Trial Keys can be utilized to unlock this intriguing feature. While Trial Chambers are a recent addition to the game, it appears that Mojang has further plans to expand this captivating element, as showcased in the video.
Although yet to be incorporated into the live version of Minecraft, players are already delving into Trial Chambers through the Snapshot client. The Snapshot allows players to preview upcoming content, including the introduction of the Minecraft Breeze mob. Update 1.21 is anticipated for release later this year, bringing a plethora of new content to the game. Meanwhile, Mojang continues to make additions and enhancements to the Snapshot version. Resembling a fusion of a Chest and Spawner, Vault Blocks can be unlocked using Trial Keys obtained from Trial Chambers. Distinguishing themselves from Chest blocks, Vaults permit multiple players to loot them, each potentially receiving different items. The loot distribution is tied to one batch per player per Trial Key, resembling the generation of hostile Minecraft mobs by a Spawner. In the new Mojang video, loot is seen ejecting one item at a time, with up to four items visibly soaring out of the Vaults.
The specifics regarding the acquisition of Trial Keys remain unclear at this point. However, the video hints at the possibility of multiple Vaults within Trial Chambers, as two Vaults are displayed in close proximity. Although Mojang has not provided a confirmed release date for the Vault and Trial Keys in the Minecraft Snapshot Preview, it appears that these additions are imminent. Given that Trial Chambers offer mid-level combat challenges, players might need to clear the surrounding area before safely looting the Vaults.
